The Horizon House explores the delicate balance between robust architectural form and the surrounding natural landscape. Situated on a sloped terrain, the residence utilizes massive concrete walls to anchor the structure, while extensive use of glass dissolves the barrier between interior and exterior spaces.
Materiality played a crucial role in the design. Warm-toned wood siding juxtaposes the cool, board-formed concrete, creating a tactile experience that evolves with the sun's passage thoughtout the day. The minimalist approach eliminates visual clutter, allowing the architecture itself to become a serene backdrop for the clients' lifestyle.
